A contactless Visa credit card allows you to make payments without inserting the card or swiping it. Instead, you simply tap your card near a contactless-enabled terminal to complete a transaction.
To use your contactless Visa credit card, look for the contactless symbol (a wave or radio waves icon) on the terminal and hold your card near it. The terminal will recognize the card and process the payment automatically.
Yes, current First Coast Visa® cards will work, it will NOT have the tap to pay capability. The new technology only applies to newly issued cards and replacement cards. If you want a tap-to-pay enabled card, please reach out to us!
You can use your contactless Visa® card wherever contactless payments are accepted. Look for the contactless symbol on the merchant’s payment terminal. If tap-to-pay isn’t available, simply insert your chip as normal.
The main difference is that a contactless Visa card allows you to pay by tapping, whereas a regular chip card requires you to insert it into the terminal. Both types of cards use similar security measures, such as encryption and authentication, but contactless cards offer a faster and more convenient payment option.
